Former premier of Queensland to deliver lecture on sustainable tourism

Peter Beattie, the former premier of Queensland, Australia, will deliver the Dean’s Executive Lecture for the University of South Carolina’s College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 15.

The lecture, titled “The Opportunities from Sustainable Tourism,” will be held in the auditorium of the university’s School of Law. The event is free and open to the public.

Beattie and his wife, Heather, are visiting scholars to the university this semester. Beattie is working primarily in the Moore School of Business, and his wife, a former associate professor of the University of Queensland, is at the College of Nursing. The 36th premiere of Queensland, Beattie spoke at the university’s commencement last May.
