Three vice-presidential candidates for research and graduate education to visit campus

Three candidates for vice president of research and graduate education will visit the campus this spring to meet with faculty and staff.

Dr. Allan S. Myerson, the Philip Danforth Amour Professor of Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, will visit the university Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 1. He will participate in an open forum at 3 p.m. Friday, May 1, in Room 203 of the Russell House.

Dr. Randy K. Avent, associate chief technology officer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Lincoln Laboratory, will visit Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5. Avent will meet with faculty and staff at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, the Gressette Room on the 3rd Floor of Harper College on the Horseshoe.

Dr. Stephen Kresovich, vice provost for life sciences and professor in the departments of plant breeding and genetics and plant biology at Cornell University, will be on campus Monday, May 11, and Tuesday, May 12. Kresovich will meet with faculty and staff at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 12 in Room 303 of the Russell House.

Dr. Rose Booze has been serving since last August as interim vice president for research, the position previously held by University of South Carolina President Harris Pastides.
