Where they've landed ...
A look at some of the members of the Class of 2007, where they've been, and where they're going.

Name: Tara Nicole Cloer
Hometown: McColl
High School: Marlboro High School
Major: Criminal justice and political science

"I'm glad to be a Gamecock all my life," said graduating honors college senior Tara Nicole Cloer.

Cloer will continue her studies at the university this fall when she enters the university's School of Law on full scholarship.

As a freshman, the Palmetto fellow and University scholar says students are why the university is so special to her. By becoming involved in student government, having served as an executive cabinet member, Cloer met many people and realized the opportunities available to students.

"I was surprised how small the university felt for being such a large school," said Cloer. "By getting involved, I created my own little communities. I passed the same friendly people every day, and I never felt like a number."

Cloer was selected for the university's Washington Semester Program, where she served as an intern in Congressman John Spratt's office, an unforgettable experience.

"It was the first time I was that far from home," said Cloer who received an Outstanding Academic Excellence Award at the university's recent Honors and Awards Day. "The experience really opened my eyes to the public/policy process.

"I have grown up a lot here at USC," she said. "I've been exposed to so many things that I wouldn't have otherwise. I think of the diversity, the intelligent minds and progressive thinkers and the wonderful service opportunities available."
