Economists: Brace for rough ride in 2008


Print and broadcast reporters can find out where the economy is headed in 2008 today (Dec. 3) at the 27th annual Economic Outlook Conference where Dr. Douglas P. Woodward and Dr. Paulo Guimarães, research economists in the Moore School’s Division of Research, will present their forecast for the new year.

The conference will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Marriott in downtown Columbia. The conference has become the state’s premier economic event for business leaders. Also featured will be keynote speaker Dr. William F. Fox, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Tennessee, who will discuss sound tax policy.
