University study on seniors, physical activity featured in JAMA


A study on physical activity and senior citizens by researchers at the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health is being highlighted by the Journal of the American Medical Association in its Wednesday, Dec. 5, issue.

The report sheds new light on the role that physical activity plays in preventing early death among seniors. Dr. Steven Blair, a professor in Carolina’s department of exercise science, will be available to discuss the study Tuesday, Dec. 4, by appointment.

JAMA also is sending a satellite feed for television stations.
