ATTENTION ...... Metro, Feature, Broadcast editors: Mark your calendars for tree lighting on the Horseshoe The university’s 53rd annual tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, on the historic Horseshoe. This 30-foot Carolina Sapphire will be decorated with white lights and red ball ornaments. University president Dr. Andrew Sorensen will flip the switch that heralds the official start of the holiday season at the university. Cocktails, the university’ ’s female a cappella group, and the Logan Elementary School choir will perform. Speakers will include Sorensen and Student Body President Nick Payne. Holiday music, hot cider and cookies round out the celebration.
