Capture the sights and sounds of the season!
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without holiday music! Coe capture the sounds AND sights of the season at performances by the University of South Carolina’s University Chorus and the Concert Choir. The 120-member chorus will perform at the Union United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, and the Concert Choir will present its annual Christmas concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at First Presbyterian Church on Marion Street. Both concerts offer excellent feature visual opportunities.

Award-winning children’s-book author to speak
Award-winning children’s author Jacqueline Woodson will sign books and be honored at a public reception from 4:30 – 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in the Graniteville Room of the University of South Carolina’s Thomas Cooper Library. Woodson, whose visit is sponsored by the university’s English department, also will meet with creative-writing students at the university and in Midlands schools.
Woodson is a Coretta Scott King Author Honor Book winner, and many of her books have been cited for excellence by the American Library Association (ALA). To coordinate coverage, call Peggy Binette at 803-777-5400.

Where’s the economy headed in ’08? Learn at the EOC Monday
Sound tax policy and the potential for a recession are among the topics to be addressed by economists at the Moore School of Business’ 27th annual Economic Outlook Conference, which is set for Dec. 3 at the Marriott in downtown Columbia. The conference, which has become the state’s premier economic event for business leaders, runs from 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. University economist Doug Woodward and keynote speaker Dr. William F. Fox, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Tennessee, will be available for interviews throughout the day.
