University to showcase new use of fuel cells
University of South Carolina officials will join researchers from the College of Engineering and Computing and leaders from the fuel-cell industry at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, to demonstrate a new use of fuel cells that could revolutionize transportation.
The event will be held in the Learning Center of the university’s West Quad (Green Dorm) residence hall, located at the corner of Sumter and Wheat streets.
Dr. Mark Becker, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, will join Carolina fuel-cell researchers Dr. John Weidner and Dr. John Van Zee and Neil McLean of the Greater Columbia Fuel Cell Challenge for the program that is taking place during the industrial advisory board meeting of the Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Fuel Cells.
Media can park on Sumter Street beside the Green Dorm.
