Terrorism expert can discuss Bin Laden video, 9-11 anniversary


Conditions have changed since 9-11, and videos released this week by al-Qaeda and Bin Laden convey new objectives by the terrorist organization and its leader, said Dr. Mathieu Deflem, a sociologist and terrorism expert at the University of South Carolina. Deflem is available on the 6th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks to discuss al-Qaeda's struggle for legitimacy and how the latest videos could be a unifying force for al-Qaeda sleeper cells and smaller terrorist organizations around the world.

Deflem is a leading authority on international police cooperation and counter-terroris.
