University to hold lecture for Constitution Day

The University of South Carolina will commemorate Constitution Day with a lecture by Walter F. “Jack” Pratt Jr. , dean of the USC School of Law.

The lecture, titled “Ratifying the Constitution: Why All the Fuss?," will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, in the School of Law auditorium.

The U.S. Constitution was signed on Sept. 17, 1787. In 2004, Congress passed legislation making Sept. 17 a national observance. Constitution Day was first celebrated in 2005.
