ATTENTION ...... Metro, Photo Assignment Editors: Homecoming heats up with Cockfest pep rally Sept. 27 Carolina students, alumni and fans will head to Williams-Brice Stadium tonight (Thursday, Sept. 27) for Cockfest, the university’s annual homecoming pep rally. The excitement starts at 6 p.m. and offers local broadcast and print media excellent visual and story opportunities. Wanting to recapture the spirit of an old-fashioned homecoming, the university's Homecoming Commission this made Cockfest a bit more family-friendly with music by the marching band and a special performance by the drumline, Cocky and the cheerleaders and the dance team. Former Gamecock running back George Rogers, the 1980 Heisman Trophy recipient, will judge a contest to determine who can strike the best Heisman pose.
