ATTENTION ...... Metro, Health and Broadcast editors: City, University to announce program to assist homeless people University of South Carolina President Andrew Sorensen will join Columbia Mayor Bob Coble at a news conference Friday, March 14, to discuss the Housing First program that will assist homeless people in the Midlands. The event will be held at 11 a.m. in the second-floor conference room at City Hall, located at 1737 Main St. Housing First is collaboration among the City of Columbia, the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and the Columbia Housing Authority, which will be instrumental in assisting individuals who are chronically homeless.
