ATTENTION ...... Metro, Education and Broadcast Editors: Alumni rekindle friendships at first Spring Reunion Gala Nearly 150 University of South Carolina alumni will reunite with classmates Friday, May 16, for the university’s first Spring Reunion Gala. The fun and friendship get under way at 7 p.m. at the Marriot Hotel on Main Street. The gala offers good photo and story opportunities, particularly for members of the Class of 1958 who are celebrating their 50th reunion. Traditionally, reunions and alumni events have been celebrated during Homecoming Weekend in the fall. However, the spring offers more opportunities for more events, including tours, mini-classes taught by professors, concerts and social gatherings. The Carolina Alumni Association launched Spring Reunion 2008 to respond to alumni interest in reunions and activities and will continue its annual awards celebration in the fall.
