THE NEW ENGINEERS

The University of South Carolina's College of Engineering and Computing is bracing for the future, when the very best engineers -- and lots of them -- will be needed to build our cities, design our computers, protect our environment and more. To accommodate this impending need, the college plans to increase undergraduate enrollment by 30 percent by the year 2010 and to expand its recruiting of outstanding students beyond the state and region. Meet a few current students -- the new engineers -- who will be on the vanguard of the future of engineering.
