
The university’s School of Medicine, Palmetto Health and Lutheran Homes of South Carolina have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Fraunhofer Institute for Software Engineering to conduct research that may result in technology that supports independent living for senior citizens. The agreement is a giant step forward for the SeniorSMART™ Center of Economic Excellence (CoEE), which seeks to preserve the quality of life for older adults through technology and is a collaboration involving the university, Clemson University, the Medical University of South Carolina, Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center and Palmetto Health.
